Hailing from East Texas, known for producing meat that is well-marbled and full of flavor, often compared to that of beef. The lard from our red wattle pigs is of exceptional quality, with a perfect white color. It can be rendered and used for both baking and cooking. You won't find this pork in your local grocery store. Red Wattles are active foragers, making them an ideal choice for pasture-based pig farming.
Also known as the "wooly pig" due to its thick, curly fur, originated in Hungary where it was prized for its lard as well as the making of dry aged pork products. The Mangalitsa was once on the brink of extinction. Now these pigs are hailed as the "Kobe beef of pork" and are highly sought after by chefs and restaurants. Mangalitsas require plenty of outdoor space and take longer to grow out, but the wait is well worth it for their delicious and tender meat.
All of our pigs are raised outside, with access to ample pasture to root around on. They are rotated onto fresh areas every two weeks, ensuring they always have fresh grass and plants to eat, while also preventing any parasite buildup.
We never use growth hormones, antibiotics, or vaccines on our pigs, instead they are provided with clean water, mud wallows, shade, and a special non-GMO, corn-free, and soy-free feed that is fermented for optimal nutrition. And for you, our consumer, this means not only an amazing taste, but also a more nutritious and high-quality meat that you can feel good about eating.
